The first annual conference of Ekal Arogya Prakalp supported by Arogya Foundation of India and HFRI USA was successfully organized by Delhi chapter of AFI on 10th -11th, February, 2018 at Jai Ram Ashram, New Delhi.
The Ekal Abhiyan Karykartas from all over India also actively took part in making all arrangements successful. All the delegates were overwhelmed by their warm welcome and the quality of arrangements being made for the comfortable stay and good quality of food. They also provided pick up and drop down facilities for all the delegates round the clock. The accommodation was provided free of cost by Sri. Jay Ram Ashram, Delhi.
The function started with opening ceremony inaugurated by Sri Shyam Gupt, the mentor of Ekal Abhiyan, on 10th February in first session. The conference was attended by delegates & office bearers from all over the country. Sri Avineesh Matta, President AFI welcomed all delegates & guests in this conference. In this session, all the dignitaries and office bearers of Ekal Arogya Prakalp and all the Karykartas coming from different part of the country were introduced.
All the state committees along with our state coordinators presented their Annual Work Reports (AWR) and highlights of their achievements in two sessions. All the presentation were highly appreciated by the dignitaries present in the gathering. All applauded the quantity and quality of work being done by them at the village level and special applause given to them for adding their innovative ideas to further improve different programmes of AFI at low cost and with locally available resources. It made all of us feel that the villages can stand on their own feet if proper awareness is created among them.
The session concluded with highly inspiring speech given by Sri. Shyam Ji Gupt and he was so overwhelmed to see the dream of Ekal Arogya Prakalp coming true that he commenced his speech with the remark “today I am really very happy and satisfied to see the remarkable achievements of Ekal Arogya”.
The third Session in the evening was fully devoted to the women’s empowerment through women’s health improvement. The session was exclusively managed and addressed by the women members of Ekal Arogya. Dr. Sushma Narayan from Ranchi was anchor of the session and Smt. Manju Shree, Prabhari Ekal Sansthan presided over this session. Dr. Veena Gandhi, Dr. Sarita Mittal, Smt. Hema Malani, Mrs Prabha Bhatt, Smt Beenu Nanda gave their learned speeches on the work being done by the Ekal Arogya, HFRI USA, AFI in the field of women’s health. This session got big round of applause from the audience for the confidence, knowledge, wisdom and the way of presentation by women members of Ekal Arogya Prakalp, AFI and HFRI, USA.
Second day of conference started with individual presentation by Karykartas of concerned EAP activities as per their subject. At first Smt. Hema Malini Ji presented her experiences with her work on Herbal Remedies in the state of Tamilnadu. Dr. Premchand from Agra presented the work being done in the field of Swachhata karyakram (cleanliness drive) by Ekal Arogya Prakalp and AFI.
Dr. Sarita Mittal elaborately discussed her experiences of 17 years in the field of women’s health empowerment and emphasized the need of Health Education and Role of Nutrition in improving the health of a woman in our country. Sri Pawan Singhal, National Treasurer, AFI, explained the financial structure of AFI and its importance and also guided us how to maintain financial discipline in the organization. Dr. H.K. Mittal shared his experience of 17 years of continuous effort in the field of Arogya Prakalp and what he achieved out of it.
In second session Dr. Anil Vij showed us the Indian version of his Telemedicine software which he has developed. EAP is planning to start the Telemedicine Prakalp in Jharkhand based on his software.
Sri Bajrang Bagra Ji in his scholarly speech explained the concept of Arogya Foundation of India and Ekal Arogya Prakalp and their role and areas of activities respectively. AFI’s role will be to manage the resources for Arogya activities and to keep supervision on the activities and achievements of Ekal Arogya Prakalp while EAP will concentrate on purely technical issues related to health like vision, planning, execution and analysis of different health activities to be done by EAP.
Concluding session started at 2:00 PM and was well attended by important personalities of Delhi Chapter of AFI, invited guests of the town and members of Rotary club of Delhi. Sri Avinish Matta Ji welcomed the honorable guests and delegates of EAP and AFI in the concluding session.
Dr. Mukul Bhatia, National coordinator introduced AFI and EAP to the audience and presented the historical journey of the Ekal Arogya Prakalp since its inception and also its aims and objectives in detail.
Dr. Mrityunjoy Kumar, National Secretary EAP presented the different activities of EAP and its achievements up till now in details which was highly applauded by the audience and the chair.
State coordinator from different states shared their experiences and the achievements to all the guests and it was well appreciated. Dr. Suresh Agrwal, Ranchi beautifully presented his work on Amrita plant by reciting a poem on Amrita written by him. And by going in to the benefit of Amrita he stressed the need of declaring Amrita as a National Plant.
Dr. H.K Mittal Joint Secretary informed the delegates about the coordination of AFI and NMO.
A beautiful Souvenir on the occasion of Annual Conference AFI and Ekal Arogya was released by all the dignitaries over the dais and all appreciated the painstaking effort of Dr. M.S Bhatt the Editor of Souvenir for his contribution. Dr. M.S Bhatt shared his pain which he bore in delivering the issue before the august gathering.
Dr. Veena Gandhi, the Chairperson of HFRI, USA expressed her views about the pious work done by HFRI, USA in support of AFI and she also shared some of her painstaking efforts in raising resources for AFI in USA for the benefit of our rural brethren of India.
Sri Subhash Gupta the President of Advisory Board of EVF, USA delivered his speech about the role of Arogya in Ekal Abhiyan an EVF, USA perspective.
All the Sevavrati Karykatas of Ekal Abhiyan Prakalp were felicitated and honored by AFI and Ekal Abhiyan dignitaries.
The conference concluded with the motivational speech given by Sri Shyam Gupta Ji. He stressed the need of making AFI self dependent and expand this most needed health activities in whole of India.
At the end of the program Gargi Gogoi from Assam presented bihu dance and Sushama Tigga & Sunita Oraon presented a dance in the cultural show.
Sri R.P. Mahipal, Secretary, Reception committee, Delhi chapter gave his vote of thanks to all the delegates and dignitaries for their kind participation and requested the gathering to visit all the state pandals of exhibition which displayed the EAP work state wise.
